Meet Peo, a busy student who shares his apartment with his best friend and younger sister. Keeping the place clean used to be a constant source of tension. With no clear division of chores, Peo felt like he was picking up the slack for his roommates.
"We had no system," says Peo. "It was whoever noticed something that needed to be done would hopefully do it. There was a lack of appreciation because you only see what you do, not what others contribute to." Moreover, constant reminders and nagging created negativity, and Peo felt as if he didn't want to be the "chore cop" with his friends.
Just two months ago, Peo discovered Accord, a household management app. "It changed everything," he exclaims. Peo uses Accord to create many different areas – this allows him to cluster his to-do list according to different themes and people included, such as one for his apartment, shared with his roommates, one for his school work, shared with some of his classmates, and one for his job.
Peo also uses Accord for personal reminders, independent of deadlines. “If I'm feeling motivated, I can check the app and tackle those extra tasks whenever I want”, he explains.
Take Peo’s recent end-of-semester experience. With looming deadlines for university projects, his film work, and an upcoming vacation, his to-do list was overflowing. "Keeping everything in my head would have caused major stress", he recalls. But Accord allowed him to keep everything organized and prioritized, helping him to stay calm and productive during a hectic time.
Peo is a big believer in Accord. "It shouldn't be a hassle to figure out chores," he says. "Start with a few tasks, make it fun, and maybe even turn it into a competition!" He encourages everyone to ditch the overwhelming calendar apps and give Accord a try instead.
Peo's story is a testament to Accord's power to transform conflictual and chaotic chore situations into a space of fun and cooperation. With Accord, roommates can focus on what matters most – friendship, fun, and a clean living environment.
